چکیده

Ultrafast photoresponse of dc-biased optically-thick YBa2Cu3O7−δ microbridges at T < Tc triggered with 100 fs optical pulses of high fluence was investigated by means of sampling oscilloscope and approach of a S-(1.5– 4 GHz) & C-(4–7 GHz) frequency-band antenna radiation, excited by the photoresponse. A superposition of ultrafast(photokinetic) and slow(bolometric) components of the photoresponse caused a quadratic rise of Fourier amplitude of the radiation with a laser fluence increase. The maximum of the radiation amplitude was obtained at T = Tc− 9.2 K and a repetition rate of the transmitting-antenna decreased from 180 to 20 MHz, when laser fluence was increased from 5 to 40 mJ cm−2/pulse. A method for optically-thick photoswitches triggering with high fluence optical pulses is demonstrated and discussed.

186 LLE Review, Volume 95 Introduction High-temperature superconductors (HTS’s) exhibit many properties that are very desirable for microwave-based telecommunication applications. Their main advantages are low absorption at microwave frequencies1 and existence of HTS microwave devices based on the controlled vortex flux flow.2 The mostpromising material is the YBa2Cu3O7–x (YBCO) superconductor ...

Influence of Interface Thermal Resistance on Relaxation Dynamics of Metal-Dielectric Nanocomposite Materials under Ultrafast Pulse Laser Excitation

Nanocomposite materials, including noble metal nanoparticles embedded in a dielectric host medium, are interesting because of their optical properties linked to surface plasmon resonance phenomena. For studding of nonlinear optical properties and/or energy transfer process, these materials may be excited by ultrashort pulse laser with a temporal width varying from some femtoseconds to some hund...

Induction of Localized Hyperthermia by Millisecond Laser Pulses in the Presence of Gold-Gold Sulphide Nanoparticles in a Phantom

Introduction Application of near-infrared absorbing nanostructures can induce hyperthermia, in addition to providing more efficient  photothermal effects. Gold-gold sulfide (GGS) is considered as one of these nanostructures. This study was performed on a tissue-equivalent optical-thermal phantom to determine the temperature profile in the presence and absence of GGS and millisecond pulses of a ...

Comment on "Structural preablation dynamics of graphite observed by ultrafast electron crystallography".

By means of time-resolved electron crystallography, we report direct observation of the structural dynamics of graphite, providing new insights into the processes involving coherent lattice motions and ultrafast graphene ablation. When graphite is excited by an ultrashort laser pulse, the excited carriers reach their equilibrium in less then one picosecond by transferring heat to a subset of st...

Resistive Switching Dynamics in Current-Biased Y-Ba-Cu-O Microbridges Excited by Nanosecond Electrical Pulses

40 LLE Review, Volume 89 The response of a superconductor to the injection of current pulses depends directly on the quasiparticle dynamics1 since the carriers injected from the external circuit are normal (unpaired) electrons that disturb the quasiparticle–Cooperpair dynamical equilibrium. Most commonly, a current pulse with an amplitude higher than the sample critical current Ic is used (supe...
